FIRE DOOR SURVEY

According to the DC Housing Code, the front door from your apartment to the hall should close automatically after it is opened. This is a fire safety issue.

The recent inspection by the DC Department of Buildings of 3003 Van Ness found that the doors to many residents’ apartments do not close automatically. This is a puzzle to us, because Equity Residential was told of these violations many months ago.

For this reason, the Van Ness South Tenants Association has created the simple questionnaire below so we can find out how widespread the problem is. You can help make the building safer by filling out this very short survey.
